However,\u00a0<a title=\"The One Simple Rule For Becoming A More Effective Manager\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themuse.com\/advice\/the-one-simple-rule-for-becoming-a-more-effective-manager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the advice works as long as there are three factors a manager keeps in mind:<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>It Can\u2019t Govern Everything You Do<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211; Augustine says that not everyone responds to the same communication and management style, leading a manager to adjust the way he\/she relates to each employee.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>The Opposite Should Be True, Too<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211; It\u2019s equally about avoiding doing the things you wouldn\u2019t want done to you.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>It Should Influence Your Actions at the Most Fundamental Level<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211; Do you want your employees to be honest with you? Respectful? Fair? Even-tempered? The key is to display that behavior yourself. Through that fundamental behavior, you\u2019ll show your team you\u2019re a dedicated manager\u2014a leader they want to look up to, work hard for, and create success for.<\/p>\n<p>Try exercising the Golden Rule and see how it can transform your team\u2019s relationships and performance.
