An\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/wonkblog\/wp\/2015\/01\/13\/the-three-countries-where-your-boss-is-more-likely-to-be-a-woman\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">article from the Washington Post<\/a> reported a new study by the International Labour Organization (ILO) that showed an increasing number of businesses are now owned or managed by women. The Philippines is number four on that list. The report shows that in the Philippines, 47.6% of our managers are women, with the number one spot belonging to Jamaica at 59.3%. This study showed that 6.5 out of 10 unemployed people are male. The gender equality issue has long been a complex one, and while we still have a long way to go, the numbers have been going up (albeit slowly) since 2000.
