Start with a brief summary of your expertise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Get the order right<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; If you\u2019re switching industries, don\u2019t launch into job experience that the hiring manager may not think is relevant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Be selective<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; It\u2019s tempting to list every job, accomplishment, volunteer assignment, skill, and degree you\u2019ve ever had. But don\u2019t.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Share accomplishments, not responsibilities<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 \u201cMy rule of thumb is that 95% of what you talk about should be framed as accomplishments,\u201d suggests Heifetz. Lees agrees: \u201cGive tangible, concrete examples.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Make it readable<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Lees says the days of a one-page resume are over. Nowadays, two or three pages is fine, but that\u2019s the limit.
