Mabalacat City College and Kalibrr Join Forces for MCC Career Expo 2023

Last July 6-7, 2023, Kalibrr teamed up with the Mabalacat City College to MCC Career Expo 2023: Building the Workforce of Tomorrow, one of the biggest career expos in Pampanga to SM City Clark. 

Over 1,000 participants from various schools and universities in Central Luzon joined the career expo to learn more about possible job opportunities and future companies they can be a part of. More than 42 participating companies were eager to find talented candidates to join their teams. These companies came from different industries; such as accountancy, business, customer service, education, hospitality and tourism, and tech. Job opportunities were made available, catering to individuals, companies who were hiring ranged from from small businesses to start-ups to industry-leading names. 

Kalibrr’s very own Growth and Marketing Supervisor, Erica Pascual, shared what it’s like working for a tech company and the expectations vs. reality that we would often have when entering a new workplace or environment. 

According to Erica, not a lot of people always find the right jobs during the first try. She mentioned that it is “not always the case for a lot of people, that your first job will be what is exciting for you or what is immediately fulfilling to you.” It is crucial to take a step back and assess how you view your career so far, especially when you are just starting. Erica later shared more about the growth of Kalibrr and its newest features, such as the AI-powered Job Description and AI-generated Profile Skill Recommendations, which all Kalibrr users can utilize in building stronger profiles.

Over 42 companies from various industries participated in the MCC Career Expo. Leading companies such as FedEx Express, SM Hypermart, Yokohama, Tim Hortons, Minute Burger, and many more employers participated in the 2-day Career Expo. It was an exciting event for many aspiring job seekers as they participated in career coaching talks, on-the-spot hiring, and interviews with potential future employers. Around 890 job openings were up for grabs during the 2-day event, with 27 job seekers hired on the spot. The MCC Career Expo 2023 was co-presented by the Local Government Unit of Mabalacat City, the City Public Employment Service Office, Kalibrr, and SM City Clark.  

According to Ms. Mikaela Garcia, the MCC Corporate College and Lifelong Learning Coordinator from the MCC Career Expo 2023, Kalibrr was able to provide a significant contribution to the event by having a “systematic registration system” that helped in not only documenting the attendees of the event but also provided to the team valuable record to  ensure that the graduating students from Mabalacat City College for this academic year participated in the event. Besides being a co-presenter, Kalibrr went beyond it by offering their services to be a speaker for their career talk. The career talk provided valuable insights into what it feels like to work professionally.
