Second Kalibrr Academy Successfully Hosted at Ateneo Graduate School of Business
The second installment of Kalibrr’s monthly workshop series held in-line with the launch of the first Ateneo Graduate School of Business Month
Manila, Philippines – Launched by Kalibrr last September in partnership with the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, PruLife UK, and Interchange Consultancy, the Kalibrr Academy was successfully held for the second time last October 29 at the Ateneo Professional Schools at the Rockwell Center in Makati City.
An avenue for professional learning aimed to help upskill jobseekers and professionals in their careers, the month’s workshop was centered on digital marketing, and was held to coincide with the launch of the first Ateneo Graduate School of Business month, aptly titled “ARCADE: Philippines Game Changers and Disruptions.”
“The Digital Landscape”
The guest workshop facilitator for the second Kalibrr Academy was Rommel Ignacio, a Six Sigma Black Belt TeleDevelopment Consultant and the present chairman of Information and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) Quality Council and the IBPAP ISO Technical Committee on Outsourcing and Contact Centers.
With a presentation entitled “The Digital Landscape”, Ignacio discussed the mechanical, electronic, and digital eras of inventions, and the different marketing practices which applied during each. He also shared his experience of when he was a sales and marketing supervisor, comparing what he did back at a time when marketing was significantly less digital with the common digital practices now.
Ignacio rounded out his discussion by by talking about the digital maturity model and the future of the digital landscape. He also shared with attendees some of the shooting techniques he had acquired in his work as a professional photographer, and having them upload their photos online and showing them how the digital landscape is indeed marketing’s most common avenue now when reaching as large a target market and creating as much engagement as possible.
“Let’s Eat, Pare”
After a quick break following the Kalibrr Academy, and a short tour of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business premises, the school officially launched first Ateneo Graduate School of Business, which also happens to be sponsored by Kalibrr, along with Marks & Spencer, Six Eagles Nest Food Inc., Serrano Financial Services, Jamba Juice Uptown, and Acceler8 by UnionSPACE.
The ARCADE Kick-Off guest speaker was Ateneo’s own Mark del Rosario, who finished the Ateneo AGSB Regis Program (MBA) in 2009, and is presently the founder and CEO of “Let’s Eat, Pare”, which is deemed as the ”most engaged food community in the Philippines.” He is also the founder of Titos and Titas of Manila, another community on social media where the members get to reminisce about the “good ol’ days.”
Del Rosario shared with the attendees the nuances of successfully building an online following and community, sharing many of his experiences of what it took and still takes to build and retain the LEP community of over 149,000 members. He also expounded on how his experiences as a former restaurateur, combined with his additional knowledge in his prior time in the fast moving consumer goods industry , as well as what he had learned under the Ateneo AGSB Regis Program, has been significant in not only growing LEP, but also in helping him establish his other online ventures and communities.
Overall, the almost day-long event had attendees fully engaged, with many looking forward to the next installments of both the Kalibrr Academy, as well as ARCADE.
