Quite a few of today’s younger generation have changed the game when it comes to job searching. Apart from looking for jobs that pay well, or the kind of perks and benefits the company offers, another important aspect jobseekers consider now is how they can impact and give back to society. Filipinos are known to have big hearts, and whenever there is an opportunity to help out, we give all out. And what’s better than being able to work in a job you love and help out the community all at the same time? If you have a heart of gold for corporate social responsibility, here are 4 companies who will let you do just that. And they are hiring, too!

Bayani Brew

The conception of Bayani Brew is an interesting one. Some time ago, the nanays of a Gawad Kalinga community would offer hot, casserole-brewed drinks wrung from native leaves like tanglad and pandan to volunteers and visitors. And that ordinary act of Filipino hospitality gave volunteers and idea to make that drink into a sustainable social enterprise. The rest, as they say, is history. Bayani Brew advocates the use of local & indigenous ingredients, and sources from organic farming communities such as the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm and agrarian reform beneficiaries. They are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist who will:

  • Design Quality Standards and implement Quality Controls on raw materials, production process, and finished goods
  • Production:
    • Ensure quality standards are followed in each production batch
    • Perform In-line monitoring
    • Lead reduction of wastages/rejects
  • Conduct laboratory test (micro, sensory evaluation, etc.)
  • Evaluate new ingredients, packaging and products
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives

Minimum qualifications:

  • Degree in Food Tech, Nutrition, Dietetics, or an equivalent course;
  • Must be knowledgeable on Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, Sensory Evaluation, food microbiology, and physical and chemical analyses;
  • At least 2 years Laboratory and Quality Assurance experience;
  • Outstanding work ethics, committed, proactive, and willing to take initiative;
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Others:

  • Should be willing to work in Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, Angat, Bulacan;
  • Regular work schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm;
  • Willing to adapt to the changing and challenging demands of a fledgling but promising and ambitious social enterprise
