Part of the perks of becoming a freelancer is life opening up to you, all at once. Suddenly, you have the ease and the opportunity to work with all different kinds of people, all different kinds of companies, and all different kinds of projects at any given time.

The room you have to spread your wings isn’t even a room anymore – it’s an expansive blue sky with almost no horizon. One of the most wonderful advantages of this kind of work freedom is you can go global while staying put.

Thanks to the internet, opportunities for freelancers cross borders, oceans, and continents. Anyone in the world can be a potential client as long as you do a healthy amount of networking. In this case, networking includes joining sites specifically designed to match freelancers with people in need of their services.

If you’re new to freelancing or if you haven’t explored your global neighborhood yet, there are over 70 sites you can try. If that sounds overwhelming, Kalibrr lists down a few websites you can start with, depending on what it is you do.

Though the available jobs can be seen by everyone, to get the job you want you have to submit a proposal that will be evaluated based on your reviews, success rate, and how your proposal performs against other freelancers’ proposals.
