Ten Highest Paying Jobs in the Philippines (as of 2019)
Each job has its pros and cons, but often, pay outweighs them all. In the Philippines, the following are the jobs whose salaries have made them 2019’s present heavyweights
There are plenty of reasons why many professionals keep to certain jobs. Depending on who is asked, the answers can range from fulfilling a passion or finding one’s purpose, to believing in the company’s mission or even just liking the office’s location. A common response across all roles, however, and one that often trumps all others, is how well the profession pays.
Indeed, the opportunity to earn as much as possible and build a comfortable life and a secure future for oneself and one’s family is a considerable priority. In some instances, making a good living is more than enough to not only influence accepting or declining a job offer but be the outright reason why a career is chosen.
In an effort to help job seekers in making such monumental career choices, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), revealed in their latest Labor Market Trends release which jobs presently earn the highest salaries in the Philippines.

Still flying high
According to the semi-annual report which the DOLE and BLE completed last March, the highest-earning professionals in the Philippines continue to be aircraft pilots, navigators, and flight engineers with an estimated monthly salary of Php116,714.
Along with navigating aircraft for the transportation of passengers, mail, and freight goods from one point to another, those in this professional group are also responsible for pre-flight and in-flight tasks, the preparation and submission of flight plans and the operation related equipment.
Despite the supposed development of “self-flying” planes, the need for pilots, navigators, and engineers will be high for the foreseeable future, as skills and experience related to flight aren’t the easiest to earn or recruit for.
Money in numbers, and money in… money
Following professionals in the aviation industry as the highest paid in the country are those in securities and finance. According to the DOLE and BLE, dealers and brokers are particularly estimated to be earning as much Php89,831 per month, undoubtedly the highest pay for professionals with Economics, Finance, or Management degrees.
Related roles that figure with numbers, data, and analysis also managed to be among the highest-paid in the country. These include Actuaries or those who are responsible for measuring risk for companies using data. At present, they reportedly earn an average salary of Php60,477 per month.
Accountants and auditors are also considered among the highest paid in the country, earning an average salary of Php47,756 per month, while statisticians–another profession involving the collection, processing, and presentation of mathematical, statistical or actuarial data– rounded out the top ten with an estimated average monthly salary of Php41,480.
Engineering is still in
Joining the aforementioned flight engineers among the top ten highest-earning professionals in the Philippines are civil and industrial engineers, proving that the discipline with various forms remains a lucrative profession.
Civil engineers–or professionals mainly tasked with the design, planning, and management of construction projects– are reported to earn a median salary of Php67,957, of the third-highest salary in the Philippines.
Industrial engineers, whose other professions include that of Production Supervisors or Foremen, reportedly earned a salary of about Php47,101, per month–substantial enough to be considered the ninth-highest salary in the Philippines in 2019.

Information Technology is the way to go
It’s well-documented how those deciding on or are at the beginning of their careers should consider one associated with Information Technology. The work of those in this field is rather vast, the most popular of which are software, communications, high-tech manufacturing, and computer-related services.
